“Man should compare himself not with other men, but with the man he used to be” (old Indian proverb)
I’ve always been trying to observe this wise Indian proverb. I think that you can learn a lot from each person you know: anyone can make you aware of some shades, of some little details or of some “banal truths”, which otherwise would pass near us and wouldn’t be caught. After all I think that everyone has to re-elaborate everything he has received to form his own self.
My way of thinking, of acting and of working are based on this life philosophy, that I’ve applied also to my musical growth as teacher, instrumentalist and Conductor. I’ve learnead a lot from the students, the colleagues and the teachers I’ve known: each of them gave me many advice, ideas and interpretations and I consider myself very lucky for this. I’ve re-elaborated all these experiences and I’ve long reflected on them so as to develop my style, or better, my way of playing music.
